    For this essay, I chose to write about Aconite (Aconite). Other common names (and/or species) of this plant include (but are not limited to); Monk's hood, old woman's hood, helmet flower, soldier's cap, bachnag, bear's foot and the appropriate name; bully killer. This plant has a long history of use in the muggle and wizarding world. It is known to grow in the northern part of the Eastern Hemisphere, particularly in the mountainous regions of the lower slopes. Specifically, the Swiss Alps, Salzburg, North Tyrol and Vorarlberg are known for the diversity of plants growing there. Although it is currently most used in Asia, it does not generally grow there. Aconite prefers slightly moist soil such as loam and thrives in shade. The ideal environment for this would be a damp, wooded clearing. In such an environment, weeding would suffice to thrive. Aconite is a very toxic plant. There are many varieties/relatives of this plant, and these vary in medicinal properties and toxicity.
