The entire town was gathered in front of our city hall around the raised wooden platform which had a long wooden pole, where three ropes hung above each rebel . I looked sideways next to my father, the lieutenant general, searching for the familiar face I know so well, my demon. It was six months ago when I was taken from the shelter of my home. “Mary!” Marie!" I hear my long-time friend, Katherine, come closer to the door. “Katherine, why are you shouting?
