  • Essay / Chase Rice as a Great Musician - 748

Music in today's society has become familiar and somewhat predictable. To stand out today, an artist must be different; they have a unique style and above all stay true to themselves. Fans of an artist can see right through a song that isn't true to the artist's style. Good musicians are built from those who stand up for who they are, even if everyone around them follows what the people around them say is best for them. Great musicians come from those who strive to be greater than they know they are capable of being. Chase Rice, when asked how great he wants to be, he always responds by saying, "On a scale of 1 to 10, be an 11." The life he leads shows that he is dedicated to being an eleven. Over the course of his life, Rice overcame an impressive number of expectations and managed to become a success almost single-handedly. Rice has quite an eventful career and a unique musical style. Rice was an incredibly motivated man. He excelled at the sport and became the University of North Carolina's starting linebacker until an injury hampered his career. While he was recovering from his injury, his father died; it was he who passed on his competitive nature and his knowledge of the importance of a positive attitude. To help him deal with his troubles, a friend introduced him to the guitar, sparking a passion for music he didn't know he had. Rice moved on with his life and became a member of the mascara team for Ryan Newman. This gave him the opportunity to use his singing skills in some pre-race ceremonies. After serving as a member of the pit crew, Rice became a star on the show Survivor: Nicaragua. Being the last person to be eliminated, Rice learned a lot. He used Survivor as an opportunity to put his life on paper......a man who, from a young age, learned to be competitive and keep a positive attitude no matter the situation. The definition of a great musician is one who leaves a mark not only on the industry but also in history itself. It marks the beginning of a new musical era; an era dominated by individuals and not industry. In today's society, he will be sure to leave his mark with his crazy styles and decide not to be on the scale but to be an eleven. Works Cited "About - Chase Rice". About - Chase Rice.
