    Over the years, society has changed. It used to be that a high school diploma was enough. Graduating from high school was an accomplishment that families bragged about when their children earned it. In Lebanon, most children completed their education until the ninth grade when they received their Brevet, then dropped out of school, believing that the Brevet was enough to provide them with employment. However, nowadays the minimum requirement for any regular job, such as that of a bank employee or office worker, is a college degree. Indeed, with time and the deterioration of the economy, the only guarantee of acquiring a job is to have a Master's degree. How can students get such a degree with such a bad economy and high tuition fees? The American University of Beirut recently decided to increase tuition fees by six percent. As expected, the students responded with a strike and boycotted their classes. A strike is needed to demonstrate that students will not remain neutral in the face of further tuition increases because "education is a priority ยป....
