    Violence in video games has remained a controversy for many years. With the advancement of technology, video games have advanced in their practicality and genres. Technology has allowed video games to become very sophisticated and realistic. This development brought video games to a multi-billion dollar industry. However, on a practical level, there are also negative effects on humanity. Since the creation of violent video games, there has been a constant dispute over whether or not violent video games increase the player's ferocity. Studies show concerns about the effects of violent video games on young people who disproportionately play video games. Although some people believe that violent video games have no effect on them, they can lead to violent behavior. Violent video games can prevent people from living a completely ordinary life. “…students who played violent video games for 20 minutes straight for three consecutive days showed increasingly higher levels of aggressive behavior each day they played” (Bushman 1). According to Brad Bushman, a professor of communications and psychology at Ohio State University, his research shows that students who play violent video games consecutively exhibit violent behavior. If a video game player does not immediately imitate particular acts of violence found in video games, this does not mean that the game will not have a long-term negative impact on that player's views and behavior. “…We tested high exposure to violent video games and they increase physical aggression over time in the United States and Japan…” (Anderson 1).
