  • Essay / The Pros and Cons of Technology - 961

Almost everyone in the world has used it. Even babies are also exposed to technology. Basically, technology is part of our daily lives and in our workplace. Computers and other gadgets have made human life easier. Even though technology has brought us many benefits, it could also bring problems because technology has surrounded our environment in the long run, creating technostress. Today, as technology advances rapidly, modern offices are trying to catch up. So, modern offices are now equipped with computers, which allows office workers to work just by looking at the computer. Workers overexposed to technology could all lead to technostress (Wang et al. 2008). Although technostress was first discovered in the 1980s (Brod 1984), researchers have not yet fully understood the symptoms that technostress might cause (Tarafdar et al. 2005). Technostress was first discovered by Brod in 1980 (1984) and he described technostress as a modern disease of man trying to cope with modern technology in a healthy way. As everyone must have known, technology could bring benefits but also negative impacts on us. For example, today's young children are exposed to technologies such as Ipad, smartphones, etc. Children will then know everything about the outside world that they are not supposed to know yet. Additionally, using them almost every day, most young children today use glasses because they have not yet learned how looking at a gadget could improve our eyesight.
