Cheating by definition means fraudulent activity. My whole life I have been taught not to cheat. I learned my lesson early in life when I cheated on a spelling test and received the worst spanking of my life from my angry mother. When asked if cheating is wrong, we morally should answer “yes,” but society tells us “no, it’s okay.” Cheating has become extremely common everywhere. With new technologies available, it has become even easier to cheat, whether it is using electronic devices during an exam or downloading assignments from essay mills. Cheating is a bad quality that has wrongly become acceptable in today's society. Cheating is a habit that affects students, teachers, and employees the most. Cheating in school and college is not uncommon and has actually become accepted in some institutions. According to a recent survey conducted by the Josephson Institute Center for Youth Ethics, seventy-four percent of students admitted to copying another student's work, and fifty-one percent reported cheating on an exam during the course. last year. (TOMAR) Obviously, almost every student cheats at least once. Students who cheat gain an unfair advantage in their studies. Some students want to get ahead of others, whatever the cost. They feel pressure from their parents to get good grades and go to a good college, but they don't want to take the time to study. Technology has made cheating worse in this regard, as students prefer to spend time on their computers and gaming consoles rather than studying for exams. Many students claim to cheat because they have problems in their personal lives; like working full time to pay for school or playing sports for school. I think the main reason students cheat is because teachers are in the middle of a sheet of paper and eating. There is no excuse for cheating no matter what, and companies need to start taking steps to punish people who attempt to cheat in the workplace. Whether you cheat as a college student, cheat in your workplace, or are cheated by a professor, cheating is wrong. If you start cheating at a young age, this habit follows you throughout school and even into your adult life. When you look at the statistics and see how many students admit to cheating, does it make you think twice about the professionals we trust? It makes me sad that we forget about cheating now, like it's normal. I think when society wakes up, cheating will no longer be excusable or tolerable.
