Over time, the country fell into poverty, even after being colonized with the help of Britain. It was because of the people who managed the money and the projects. The country itself had a perfect source of income from resources and trade. Ghana had natural resources such as: gold, timber, diamonds, bauxite, manganese and fish. In addition to their natural resources, they had good agricultural products such as: cocoa, coconuts, coffee, pineapples, cashew nuts, pepper, other food crops, rubber (Directory of countries of the world and their leaders). Ghanaians had the resources to succeed as a country, but they faced many obstacles.
