History is a subject that some people may find interesting, and others may feel that it is a useless knowledge of facts. Although learning history does provide knowledge, the reason for history is much more than just a fact. Learning history is vital to the choices we make in our future, and if history is not taught or instilled in the minds of our young people, the lack of knowledge could harm their future progress. We study history to understand the thoughts of our ancestors and how they faced moral and ethical dilemmas. Although the choices made have not always been positive or progressive, they nevertheless provide us with useful lessons on how to evaluate the problems we face today. Therefore, schools should not purchase textbooks offering revised or alternative histories of historical events. By providing alternative or revised editions, students are provided with information that may contain biased information about past historical events. Deprivation of important historical events could lead to an increased risk of repeating the same events that led to disaster in the past. History helps us change and contributes to moral understanding. Every part of history must be studied in depth, and a lesson must be learned and taught. If lessons like slavery, the Holocaust and the world wars were simply missing from our history books, what could be said about our future? Would these disastrous events happen again and be more devastating than ever? How can you assess and treat a problem that you have never faced? History is repetitive and this requires our constant vigilance to pay attention to it (Stearns). It is proven that in history those who do not stay in the middle of paper ...... every detail in addition to offering truthful sources and who have not been deprived of useful information can deter the negative aspects evaluated above. . In doing so, we will then offer our young people the education they deserve and not the education that some might think is “better”.
