Essay / The Harper Project - 1645
It was 4:30 p.m. when a slim, intellectual businesswoman named Emily Thorogood had just landed at the Ottawa International Airport. Relaxed and back from her business trip, Emily had no idea of the grave danger that awaited her 2 minutes later. She tied up her long brown hair and stood in the aisle, just waiting to get out. Without realizing it, she got off the plane and headed to the airport. As she entered the baggage claim area, she immediately spotted two extremely built men in black suits, "looking" at her suspiciously. She walked over to the baggage carousel and grabbed her bags. As she turned to walk away, she ran into what appeared to be a brick wall. But when she looked up to see what she had hit, she realized it was one of the men in the black suits. Emily was so scared she could barely make a sound, let alone a word. Unfortunately, the man spoke. From this man came a low voice, with a rather familiar French accent. “Would you please come with me and my colleague, Madam? We would like to ask you a few questions. said the man. Emily, still in paralyzing fear, said nothing, did not blink, but just walked nervously between the two giants. The men led her through secret corridors, to a small room with only a dimly lit swivel lamp as the only table. Emily now knew she was in grave danger. The man who hadn't spoken closed the door behind them and locked it. “Please sit down and make yourself comfortable. We only have a few minutes. said the man who had spoken previously, "Then let's make it quick." At this moment, the man who had not spoken placed a briefcase on the table with his combination written on a piece of paper. “I would like you to take this... in the middle of a paper... Fortunately, there was almost no one there other than the clerks. Emily tried to stay as calm as possible, so as not to arouse suspicion, and walked towards the counter. There, she was greeted by one of the employees: “Good evening Miss! My name is Jennifer, how can I help you today? "Hi. I'd like to send an invitation. But if it's possible, I'd like the recipient to receive it almost immediately. You see, the invitation comes quite late. Emily lied through her teeth. Jennifer made a face surprised but said: “Certainly miss.! I can offer you our express mail service provided it is sent somewhere in Ottawa. It may cost a few dollars more, but the recipient is guaranteed to receive it in less than. 3 hours. “Looks great!” said Emilie. She then handed Jennifer the envelope, happily paid the additional shipping costs, and headed home..
