Essay / Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov: pornography or literature?
The question of whether Lolita, the novel written by Vladimir Nabokov, has become a new form of pornography or a form of literature remains unanswered. Due to the many controversies surrounding this novel, an entirely new form of writing was created during its time. It was she who allowed Lolita to continue to move forward and ultimately become the novel it is today. He obviously didn't know what a great novel it was, given that people were so interested in it that it ended up attracting the attention of French governments. This attention caused the first ban on "Lolita" in 1955. In 1956, when the British government requested information on around twenty books published by Olympia Press, including Lolita, the Minister of the Interior signed a decree in December... ... middle of paper ...... little girl rather than victim of Humbert. They believed the film failed to send the message that when it comes to children, there is limits. Comments like these have been made all over the United States. Fortunately, his supporters overpowered them. Even though the controversy over Lolita has lasted for decades, it is clear that, whether it is pornography or not, Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita will always remain a new form of controversial artwork. .
