    “The Great Father” published in 1835 by an unknown source, based on a portrayal of Andrew Jackson in a light that was not funny for the president of the time. In the cartoon illustration, the board image shows a woman with her foot on her face. This obviously means domination over that person, their abandonment and superiority of the whole image. The next thing you notice is the stack of papers tied together on his desk and how organized everything is. The organization in which you recognize the roles is like a mission statement that informs people about the laws and what they stand for. This shows that everything has its place and there is a place for everything in Jackson's world. The pile of paper symbolized the overwhelming responsibilities and stress Jackson goes through to get people to follow his rules. Additionally, the way Jackson's foot is pointed toward the Indians signifies that they are the center of interest in the image.
