Essay / Traits of an Ideal Clinician - 721
Origami Rehabilitation Center helps patients who have suffered some sort of brain injury, from a stroke to an accident. I believe Juliane possesses the important traits and qualities of an ideal clinician. Juliane began each session with a short conversation with the patient. Not only did she ask questions about the patient and their life, but she also asked questions about the patient's family. I found this amazing because she showed the patient that she cared about her life outside of the session. This short conversation surpassed all other clinicians I observed. Additionally, even with the number of patients Juliane sees, she was attentive to each patient. She clarified that each session was “client-centered” and understood the patient’s frustration or feelings. In conclusion, my time at Origami was an extraordinary and eye-opening experience that I can honestly say I will remember forever. And it was not thanks to the patient that I was able to observe, but because I had the chance to observe Juliane. Juliane is someone who truly cares about what she does and her patients. And that's what makes her the most ideal clinician I've ever had the chance to work with..
