Today's cell phones allow people to surf the Internet, conduct text conversations with other people, take photos, record videos, download and listen to music, and play games. to games. With cell phones, kids are always just a few buttons away, highly connected and almost always available. Parents who allow their children to have cell phones feel secure in being able to contact their children at any time. Technology gives teens, and some adults, more ways to do things other than what they're supposed to do, like do their homework. In the adult world, it is common for the lines between work and play to be blurred. Adults often work at home and play at work, emailing and texting friends and family, sharing jokes and family photos, or reading the news. Business owners are increasingly relying on spy programs to spy on their employees and ensure that their activities are both appropriate and work-related. Student “outcomes” are academic success and achievement. Socializing on your cell phone while trying to do homework or study, no matter what anyone says, is not the best option for getting the best possible learning environment.
