    IntroductionWhistleblowers have never been treated hospitably. Typically, 90% of whistleblowers have lost their jobs or been demoted, regardless of industry; 27% were prosecuted; 26% had been referred to a psychiatric or medical service; 17% lost their home and 8% went bankrupt (Waters 2008). As virtuous as whistleblowers are, they also face serious consequences. In this situation, she would be acting in her own interest. Second, she has responsibilities to Hughes Microelectronics because she is an employee of the company and is responsible for the operation of the test shop. As a result of the responsibility that the company delegates to, Goodearl is required to act based on principles that will maximize the overall result of the company. Third, Goodearl has an obligation to serve his country, to act in the interest of the United States. However, in the Hughes Aircraft case, Goodearl's obligations to the United States conflict with the company's interests, which ultimately affects his personal interest as well.
