    Finally, the reader finds hope when Vladimir and Estragon decide to leave and stop waiting for Godot; However, the last word that Beckett puts in the direction of the play in Act II is "they do not move", leaving the reader with a feeling of resignation that the two characters will never accept the fact that Godot will not will never come and that they will stay there forever. (Beckett Act II). The statement “Vladimir represents the intellectual and Estragon the body, the two cannot exist without the other” attempts to explain the need of the mind for the body and the body for the mind. A body needs a mind to think, walk, eat, survive, and the mind needs the body which energizes the mind, nourishes it and keeps it alive. Overall, the mind gives life to the body, the body nourishes the mind with what it needs.
