  • Essay / Change in Society - 1901

Introduction:In ancient times, men were responsible for financial support and women were responsible for raising children and doing housework. However, society has changed, the family structure has changed and the roles of its members have changed. In today's world, women are more independent and more educated; they work to support their husbands and families. In this world we try to have equal rights and responsibilities between men and women. When a woman works, she can choose to marry and have children later. When she decides to have this child, her life will change because she will have to find a balance between being a mother and being a feminist. Many people believe that a woman cannot be a feminist and a mother together; she must either be a feminist or a mother. For some people, being a mother means loss: a loss of power, freedom, opportunity, and ability to determine and define oneself. I believe that women can balance work and motherhood. Every mother can work hard to be part of the workforce and still be a mother. If a woman is a mother, that doesn't mean she should lose her identity as a worker and just stay at home and raise her children. Women can combine both their role as mothers and their work. Women can pursue their careers and be good working mothers. It's about feminist mothering, which is about finding a balance between being a feminist and a mother. It empowers women and allows them to impact the social changes they seek for themselves, their children and the world at large. Feminist mothering redefines maternal work as a political and social act. This is a big difference from traditional motherhood which limits motherhood to private care in a local sphere.
