No matter where we live, poverty is just minutes from our neighborhoods. Wealthy Western countries face many challenges with their own poverty problems at home; however, they should be active partners helping to resolve this global crisis. Poor countries must take responsibility for their failures. The governments of these countries must adopt economic and social policies that promote growth. Furthermore, they must invest in infrastructure, education, health and functional private and public institutions, while creating a platform for the growth and development of their economy.
