  • Essay / Chocolate Movie Reflection - 1042

They only showed a few scenes of her teaching Josephine, but it seemed like she was patient with her and willing to coach her in learning the chocolate business. I would have liked to see more of the training process and perhaps see where Vianne ordered her products. The village appeared to be independent and founded in the 1950s. I don't believe it was as easy to export or get food deliveries as easily as it is today. The only mention of cost in the film was One day, when a customer asked how much a particular product cost, Vianne told him it was $4.50. Even though we didn't really know what was in it or how much it cost to make, or even where its products came from. It had expensive ingredients and it would have been nice to have a different perspective to explain the origin a little more. I also think the price is probably not accurate, it seems like her products should cost more, considering the ingredients she used. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie. I've watched a lot of "foodie" movies over the years, but I didn't really think about it when looking at what the kitchens and stores were like.
