Essay / The Pros and Cons of Drone Strikes - 2192
Byman's main points are that drones are more effective, that drone strikes cause no more civilian deaths than any other weapon of war , and drones are here to stay, we need to understand why they are used and the benefits of drones, not only for our country but around the world. Friedersdorf's main points are that someone needs to be held accountable for these drone strikes, that there needs to be more information about why these drone strikes are authorized, and that even if a drone does not strike not, its presence in the area can simply cause as much damage as if it hit its target and killed people, and why drones are not an ethical way to wage war. Again, both authors give excellent reasons why drones work and don't work, which is why this topic "drone strikes" is a very controversial topic on Capital Hill and surrounding areas.
