    The Effects of a Dystopian Society "The Most Dangerous Game" and The Hunger Games are two very popular literary works that have been converted into films and are loved by many. The Hunger Games is most likely derived from "The Most Dangerous Game" as it shares many similarities such as a remote location, survival of the fittest, deadly game, dystopian society/setting, and finally, survivor is the winner. The most important of these similarities is a deadly game created by the dystopian society, in which the human race fights fiercely to survive. These deadly games create and sustain the existing dystopian society, but the main character's challenge calls for social action and provides entertainment at the cost of suffering. In The Hunger Games and "The Most Dangerous Game", we find the common theme of a dystopian society. A dystopia is an imperfect society in which a group of people or one person is in control. These societies often exhibit similar characteristics such as restriction of freedom of thought, citizens live in a corrupt state, human misery is permitted and inflicted, officials attempt to give the illusion of a utopia, individuality n is not permitted and propaganda or other information is used. to brainwash citizens (Wright lesson 926). One of the reasons why dystopian societies appeal to young adult audiences is that they are usually set in the future and act as a warning of what may come, or in some places, what is happening. In The Hunger Games, the theme of a dystopian society is exemplified in Panem by the power possessed by a single person and their imperfect society.
