    Two women could never be more different, Lady Macbeth and Miranda. However, some of their attributes are similar. Lady Macbeth is a woman of action, always wanting the best; even for her husband. In the play Macbeth, there is a lot of conflict and death. There are the three witches, who are the catalysts for Macbeth's downfall. They prophesied to him: “Hail everyone, Macbeth! Hello, Thane of Glamis! Thane of Cawdor! From now on you will be king! » (Act 1 sc. 3 line 50-54 Macbeth). He kills King Duncan, for his throne; kill Banquo, his children will reign; The Macduff family, for a warning; and he commits suicide. “Common evil – the most common type – can arise directly from unconsciousness” (Keller). Metaphorically, killing his loved ones eventually came back to kill him. Then there's the question of Tempest. A wizard and his daughter stuck on an island because of betrayal and a greed for power. This is a revenge play in its sweetest form. Prospero's daughter, Miranda, falls in love with Ferdinand; him with her. Using this pairing as a way to get revenge on his brother, Alonso, and Ferdinand's father. The comparison is with Lady Macbeth and Miranda. There are some contrasts and comparisons with Lady Macbeth and Miranda; they both care a lot about their partners, one is too weak and the other is perfect, and Miranda is the woman who prospers while Lady Macbeth dies by her own hands. First, the devotion of women to their partners; Lady Macbeth to her husband and Miranda to Ferdinand are particularly similar. Alas, now, I beg you, do not work so hard: I wish the lightning… 'He cries for having tired you' (act 3 sc.1 line 20 Tempest). Miranda is immensely in love with Ferdinan...... middle of paper ......use. The endings of these two plays are very different; like black and white. Macbeth ends as a tragedy; Lady Macbeth, Macbeth, Banquo, Duncan and the Macduff family all die. In Tempest there are no tragedies, there are conflicts but in the end a new life will begin. “At first glance, Shakespeare's play The Tempest seems to end in the triumph of reconciliation and order” (Stutton). In conclusion, they both care a lot about their other half, one is too weak and the other is right, and Miranda is there a woman who prospers while Lady Macbeth dies by her own hands; these are some contrasts and comparisons. These women are strong and it wouldn't be surprising if some modern day women look up to these two. Strong-hearted and weak-willed, Lady Macbeth was similar to Miranda in only a few specific ways. They are more different, like black and white color.
