  • Essay / Using animals for research - 803

In pursuit of happiness and well-being, humanity has made progress in technological development, security, communication and medicine. More importantly, humanity seeks to further medical research by understanding the source of diseases in order to effectively implement prevention and treat hereditary and acquired diseases. Generally, current diseases have been understood by researchers and health professionals. However, effective treatments for some conditions affecting humans are not readily available due to a lack of well-founded research and safety concerns. Furthermore, the newly discovered remedy requires therapeutic trials for its intended use and also to observe possible side effects. Animals are a means that researchers use not only to understand diseases, but also to track the effectiveness of newly discovered drugs. Side effects of medications are monitored through the use of animal subjects. The use of animals has generated some controversy, including: testing potential forms of treatment on animals, using animals to advance scientific understanding, and protecting the safety of people, animals, and the environment. (Animal research). Using animal subjects helps develop a potential form of treatment. Chronic metabolic diseases, including obesity, heart disease and diabetes, have been observed in laboratory animals. These animals were fed certain foods that contributed to their metabolic disease. Some animals had fatty liver disease that was reversed by eliminating the source of the disease, namely a high-calorie diet and lack of activity. This type of metabolic disease can be understood in humans in a more complex obese patient who needs to change middle of paper......protect human consumers, workers and the environment. Finally, even animal welfare is actually protected by the use of animal research which aims to understand the source of diseases and develop safe treatment for their cause. (Speaking of research).
