The environment I was used to completely changed because I didn't know anyone and had a lot of confidence in myself. The intensity of schoolwork became more difficult and having no one at home to help made things impossible. To some extent, I'm glad things turned out this way, because it forced me to improve my independence and study skills. The school years following first grade were much better. I knew almost everyone at school, which made me not feel alone and I started to have more free time. This made it easier for me to complete my work during school and not have to stay after school as much as the previous one.
