Since Austin's readings, I find that I am too attached to the terminology (and especially the philosophical aspects) that the authors use in their article. I've had limited exposure to philosophy in general and find that I spend a lot of my reading time defining some of the scientific terms in the articles without always understanding them very well. For example, the relationship between the themes of Austin, Derrida, and Butler becomes clearer to me as we move forward, but I think I could benefit from more private discussions in a personal meeting in order to better understand the terms and the ideas they convey. build. In the future, I will be more responsible for scheduling time outside of class to talk with you about confusing terms and ideas from the readings.
