Essay / Prayer in Schools - 821
Since other people and denominations are allowed to go out and practice their ways in public, I believe that prayer should also be allowed. If a person of a faith other than Christianity believed they had to perform a certain ritual every hour, that would be allowed, but public prayer at school is not. I don't think this is fair and needs to be changed. While prayer may offend some people, homosexuals offend me and my religion. I believe all relationships should be male or female, and seeing people with other ways of thinking express this way of life in public makes me angry. This makes me angry, because I am not “allowed” to do the simple, harmless task of prayer thinking that it might or might offend someone. So, I can be offended by homosexuals, but I am forbidden from praying. I understand that schools were not built to establish religion, but I don't think practicing religious things should be banned in this country.
