The first example of how prejudice hindered jury deliberations was when Juror 10 stated that all children born to a violent or troubled environment are liars and always lie. This indicates that the 18-year-old is on trial for murder; and that he lies about what happened, all because he comes from a troubled background. This is a prejudice because it is not true at all and is not based on facts. Not all children from difficult or violent backgrounds lie.
