  • Essay / Games for Generations - 1215

Over the years, technology has advanced in all sorts of ways. From thinner, lighter and sharper picture TVs to voice-controlled devices. These technological advancements have been more common in the video game industry. Year after year, major companies such as; Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo competed to see who has the best video game console on the market. I won't talk about how these three companies have improved each of their consoles over the years and how one is better than the other. I'm just going to explain how Microsoft's three-generation consoles have brought to our home and how much they have improved over the last twelve years of their existence in the video game industry. The original Xbox was Microsoft's first video game console to be released in the United States. United States on November 15, 2001. It brought new features such as its integrated service known as "Xbox Live" which allowed gamers around the world to play video games online, support for top throughput, which allowed you to download additional game content, system linking, detachable cables and its ability to store media on its built-in hard drive (Dyer). The original Xbox came with a ten GB hard drive used for storing additional game content, game saves, and media for custom game soundtracks. It was the first console of its generation to include a disk integrated hard drive. It included a 733 MHz Intel processor, making it the most powerful central processing unit for a gaming console at the time of its launch. Microsoft and nVidia developed the paper..... Connect your cable or satellite through one of the HDMI ports to watch your shows through the console itself. As an Xbox 360 owner, you are allowed to transfer your Xbox Live profile to the Xbox One and can use it on both consoles. The console itself does not have backwards compatibility, but Microsoft says they may provide this service in the future (Hicks). Microsoft has come a long way in creating three successful consoles. They have improved a lot over the last thirteen years, both hardware and software. Although there is competition with Sony's PlayStation 4 and Nintendo's Wii U, Microsoft is still doing its best. The video game industry will continue to improve over time and as technology improves. My personal goal is to work as a computer hardware and video game engineer to help develop great computers and consoles..
