His emotional capacity is surprisingly greater than that of most cognitively impaired people. He fulfills his role as a father and does it well. If I were to incorporate the client-centered approach when working with a person with a disability like Sam, I would choose the tasks that are most meaningful to her. Solely for Sam, considering that he takes his role as Lucy's father, his job, which is his source of income, and his circle of friends very seriously, it would only be appropriate to incorporate all of these roles into his treatment . By mixing all these areas of interest, Sam would be motivated to do his best. The same concept also applies to other people with other physical or mental disabilities. The client-centered approach emphasizes the importance of work priorities and other activities that define the person. People with mental and physical disabilities would benefit from social interventions, mobility adaptation and accommodation, day programs that will teach them life skills.Socialization. I believe that social skills allow a person to learn and expand their way of seeing the world. For people with mental disabilities like Sam or even those with physical disabilities, socialization plays a central role in how they manage their physical and mental limitations. Social skills are closely associated with language and communication. That said, incorporating socialization not only helps them cope and learn appropriate social interactions, but also teaches them how to communicate effectively.
