Pat tries to get around people but it seems like almost everyone is afraid of him and what he's going to do. His father and mother worry about him but they trust that he will change and that everything will be okay in the end. During the film we see that his father constantly tells Pat how much he believes in him and that he just wants the best for him. In my opinion, the impact on those around him was portrayed realistically. There is a lot of emotion and faith in the film, they make it believable for the audience.
