    'The fall of the newspaper and the rise of the Internet: a critical analysis'Introduction/SummaryRecently, I came across a topic that seems to me very passionate, as a designer strongly anchored in print. I want to find out how this happens, why, and whether we can stop it – if at all. Should we even try? I think a lot of people are concerned about this and there are a lot of possibilities for ideas. I plan to research the widespread decline in newspaper sales and how the Internet is causing this situation, if it is real. I will also examine whether journalists themselves are to blame or simply citizens' lack of interest in information, whether published in newspapers or on television. I will also study how people read their news; do they buy a newspaper? What interests them? To what extent is the Internet replacing the newspaper? These are all questions and more that I plan to research in depth, perhaps with the help of the general public. Objectives of the first part My objectives in this thesis are simple. Above all, I would like to answer the questions I have asked myself about the current state of the newspaper industry, in past, present and future circumstances. Will there be a job in this industry for me as a designer or for someone else? How are journalists, people who work for newspapers, affected? Do they blame widespread Internet use? Extending this, I will examine whether the “Online Superhighway” affects, provokes, or perhaps complements the newspaper (on the contrary), whether economic, political, or sociological.
