Essay / Martin Luther King's speech in I Have A Dream Speech , as evidenced by their presence here today, have realized that their destiny is linked to ours. it prepares the public mind to expand from the localized question of racial equality to human rights and freedom from all forms of oppression. Before moving on to the overarching issue of human equality, King's entire speech temporarily shifts into a somber mood as he takes a moment to air the grievances of the black community; injecting a lull that sets the stage for the crescendo of his speech. King's repetition of the phrase "we can never be satisfied" allows him to flood the crowd with struggle after struggle in a way that seems endless. He does this as much so that the white people in the audience can gain perspective as he does for the African-American community to feel vindicated, and by simply acknowledging their issues in a public manner, he has given them representation that they have not. not yet experienced. In doing so, he further strengthens his position within the community so that they do not feel sidelined as he speaks out about injustice and human rights on a national and global level.
