Until now, I will get a degree not because I need a better job or to prove to anyone that I am worth it, but to prove to myself that I did this for what I was sent. I've already lost both my parents, so I won't even have the satisfaction of showing them that I did what I was sent to do. They wanted their daughters to do better than stay in a small town to raise their children and work in the fields. I feel like I accomplished everything they wanted for me.
