  • Essay / Creating a better future through globalization

The term “globalization” became known in everyday vocabulary in the 1980s. It is used to describe the increased movement of people, knowledge, goods and money across national borders. This has led to increased interconnectedness among the world's populations, economically, politically, socially and culturally (TL Friedman 6-14). Although globalization is often viewed in economic terms, this process also has many social and political implications. The globalization of today's world through technology is creating an unprecedented cross-cultural phenomenon. Not only are jobs and services more easily accessible to everyone around the world, but cultures also meet at all levels. In today's world, national economies are more open to each other than ever before. With international trade, much of what people consume is imported, and much of what countries produce is exported at an extraordinary level. All this is due to the integration of the world, which expands the integration of markets, technologies and nations. People around the world are more connected to each other than ever. Information and money move faster. Products made in one part of a country are offered to the rest of the world. It is much easier for people to travel, communicate and do business internationally. In his book The Lexus and the Olive Tree, Thomas L. Friedman explains how globalization came to be. The section of the book titled “The New System” covers the life of a journalist who was beginning his stint as foreign affairs columnist for The New York Times. The journalist covered this new international system, born from the disintegration of the balance of power between European countries...... middle of paper ...... known throughout the world for the integration of civilizations and crops. There are many positive aspects of the integration of nations, cultures and technology across all geographies and faiths. The numerous contacts with countries and cultures allow nations to understand each other better. Creating new relationships between countries will lead to a reduction in cultural conflicts. Globalization is a response to the gap that existed in the past and will influence our future in a more positive way. As a result, globalization in today's world, through technology, has created a wonderful cross-cultural integration between the countries of the world that civilizations have never experienced before. With globalization we cannot go back, today and in the future we will continue to integrate our lives with other lives around the world..
