    “Magic springs from the towers you don't see. It's the magician's way of weaving what's right before your eyes with something subtle, something hidden. It's a mix of your expectations of what should happen with a delicious surprise of something much more creative. (The Hidden Magic of Disney p.5) Is Walt Disney World really what it seems? Cinderella Castle sparkling in the background, Main Street USA rolling out the red carpet for visitors who stroll there each day, and Mickey Mouse, who is the center of all things Disney. Millions of people pass through the main gates each year hoping to see Snow White, Tinker Bell, Donald Duck and Goofy. They want to ride thrilling rides, visit Tomorrowland and Frontierland, and see all the characters from their childhood come to life. These people are so focused on the main concept and the big picture that they are blind to the little things that mean so much to Walt Disney World and paint a whole new big picture, a puzzle of sorts, that people have to to understand. Yes, it may be “the happiest place on earth,” but what lies behind those intricate doors? What is there but goes unnoticed? What exactly is underground? Walter Elias Disney, better known as Walt Disney, had a plan all along. His plan wasn't just to create "the happiest place on Earth", he wanted to create, inspire and teach. At the grand opening of Disneyland in 1955, Walt said, “To all who come to this happy place; to welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here, age revives good memories of the past... and here youth can savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, dreams and facts that created America... with the hope that it will be a source of j...... middle of paper ......e too alarm. The Utilidoors, underground tunnels where actors move from one park to another, are located just under the park. Mickey can be seen walking around without his head, Alvin, from Alvin and the Chipmunks, has his costume all over the hallway, and Cinderella can be seen walking around and humming a tune.
