Organizational behavior is a subject that describes the behaviors of employees in a workplace. In this particular case, organizational behavior methods have been widely described due to the multiple issues related to this case. This case was overall a failure due to team development and interdependence. The interdependence between Shalini, Sara, Philly and Rishi was not very consistent and therefore made their behaviors look bad. With the decline in interdependence and also development, it is important to look in more detail at other aspects of why this team did not work well together. From the start of the affair, the FIS seemed to have started on the wrong foot. Even though the team members chosen for this project had many qualifications as to why they were placed on one team, it was not very effective at the end of the project. In this case, the FIS project team appears to have failed during the team formation phase. This is when the FIS team should have really tried to understand their positions within the team. Instead, the team didn't form well as they immediately fell into small groups among themselves. This affected the interdependence of the team in a major way as the interdependence was not met successfully. With this particular project team, there had to be complete interdependence between each other. It required high levels of interaction between each team member to successfully complete the project. After the training phase and then interdependence failed, it seemed like the team was stuck in the turbulent development phase. The stressors she endured with Shalini and the other team members were daily hassles caused by the team leader, Rishi and Philly, the project manager. Throughout this project, it became apparent that there was little motivation within this team. There did not seem to be a higher level of engagement due to the unwillingness to work as a team. A possible solution to this problem could have been to incorporate some group activities at the beginning of the project. If activities were integrated, they could help the team understand their role as team players, instead of allowing members to separate themselves from others. Overall, the professional performance of this project was extremely poor as members did not work together as they should have. .
