    The first problem, “Is there a teleological suspension of ethics?” begins by stating that ethics is the universe that applies to everyone. However, our goal in the universe is to act ethically. “As soon as the individual wants to assert himself in his particularity, in direct opposition to the universe, he sins, and it is only by recognizing this that he can once again reconcile himself with the universe” (Kierkegaard , 1985, p. 83). I think this statement makes sense because we can only move forward in life if we recognize the mistakes we have made. In the text, it is a question of “the absolute” and “ethics”. The difference between the two is that a person is in relationship with the absolute (God) through faith, just like Abraham, while ethics is impersonal and inferior to the individual. We all have ideas about what is right and wrong and from there we develop our own view of ethics and our view of the absolute.
