A nurse should be reliable as long as her skills demonstrate that she is a fully competent nurse dedicated to the well-being of patients. Instead, doctors let their egos get in the way of using their power properly. “Self-confidence also influences the effectiveness of collaboration. Paradoxically, some people hide their lack of confidence with bravado or strength.” (Lindeke, 2005). There is no excuse for nurses to be mistreated because of a doctor's assertiveness in doing their job.
