    Today, at 43, I'm not even sure I want to get married anymore. I am happy and comfortable being single. I find that I no longer regret not having found the right man, but I still regret not having children. I realize now that the main reason I wanted to get married was to have children. Right now it's very unlikely that there will be children, which may be why marriage doesn't seem so important to me anymore. This may also be the case for other people who do not marry for the first time after age 45. Question – Have we forgotten that children are the future of our society? This report compares data from the 1960s and 1970s to data from more recent years. Comparing these data, it seems that we seem to have forgotten that children are the future of our society. We have fewer children, not even enough to replace our dying population (Marquardt et al. 2012: 84-86). While this may not seem like a problem at the moment, it may well become one in a few generations as our population begins to decline too much.
