Essay / My First Red Sox Game - 814
If you have ever met me or know me, you would know that I love sports, and you would know that my favorite sport of all time is baseball and that my Favorite sports team is the Boston Red Sox. I'm what you call a die-hard Red Sox fan; you can compare me as a Red Sox fan to actor Jimmy Fallon's character in the movie Fever Pitch. My great love for the Red Sox comes from my father-in-law Phil. Phil has always been like a second father to me since he and my mother met in the early 2000s. Phil always tries to teach me and help me learn from my mistakes, and I have made some my part. However, I also cherish the times I spend with him at Red Sox games. The experiences I had at Red Sox games are moments in my life that I will never forget, that I will always remember. One game in particular that I remember most is my first Red Sox game at Fenway Park. My story and experience takes place over a long period of time. a long time ago, but to me it seems like it was yesterday. I remember it very well, it was Saturday June 10, 2006. I received tickets to the match from my real father, but he was unable to attend the match, thus giving me the tickets for my first Red Sox game at Fenway Park. That day, the Red Sox were scheduled to face the Texas Rangers in a day-night doubleheader. As soon as I received my tickets, I went to check the weather for the day. Rain, yes, it was forecast to rain the day of my first Red Sox game, the game was already rescheduled after rain fell a month earlier. Therefore, on game day June 10, Phil and I woke up early. and began our two and a half hour journey down the Massachusetts Turnpike to Boston. As we head up the pike you can see the clouds getting dark and cloudy as we get closer to Boston. When we arrive in Boston, we get lost in the middle of a paper...flesh grass smells amazing to me, as it is strong after a rainstorm. Finally, the ball game begins, as the Red Sox take the field. led by rookie pitcher Jon Lester, who is making his major league debut. Lester is now one of my favorite Red Sox players because of that moment. The Red Sox ended up losing the game that day, but to me, even though the Red Sox lost, I felt like I was in heaven. I cherish that moment because it was my first Red Sox game at Fenway. I can only go to one Red Sox game a year if we can afford it. I know how to cherish this moment, because for me, this day is like Christmas, it only comes once a year. I love going to Red Sox games with Phil because I get to spend time alone with him. I hope I can go there this year, return to my baseball paradise, Fenway. For me, this experience is important, because it taught me to cherish the moments and not to have regrets..
