  • Essay / Older, wiser, stronger - 1204

When Maya's eyes opened, she was ready for a brand new day. All around her, birds flew, bees buzzed, and trees swayed in the summer breeze. Life was perfect, she had a healthy family and a beautiful home. Maya never got into trouble and was a perfect child, the ground under her feet was like clouds because she was like an angel. Maya loved her family, but sometimes her siblings got on her nerves and wouldn't leave her alone. Maya's mother always watched over Maya and took care of her if she needed it. His father was the man of the house and worked all day to provide for the family, his father was in the army and fought proudly for his country. Maya's brother was older than her by 5 years and was never mean to her but he liked to make a lot of cruel jokes, and then there was her sister who she was controlling and bossy, she never claimed to like Maya and she always felt like she deserved praise for seemingly being the parents' favorite child. Every day, Maya and her siblings walked to the outskirts of town, and sometimes to the nearby town of Schooolll. This town wasn't normal, it was full of stupid people and people who weren't good enough. Most people who entered the town of Schooolll did not leave because in town, if you wanted something, you had to fight for it. The city of Schooolll was not like the others because it was surrounded by a large dome and in this dome, everything that happened was due to its creation, by their president. All wildlife, buildings, supplies, and the city itself were created by President Rain. He could choose something, create it and then place it anywhere. Everything the people at school needed, they had to earn, even everyday items... middle of paper... I felt stronger and more powerful than ever. She fought for what she wanted and that was her life and her family, her sister eventually disappeared from her mind and didn't reappear in her thoughts more than once in a while. His brother recovered and eventually left home to find a better life. As for Maya, she had a new power, Maya could fight, her goal was to protect her family, she was not an innocent little child, she was a powerful warrior. Maya was safe and sound with her parents at home for the moment, but President Rain would eventually find her and want to kill her and that would be the day when Maya stood up straight, held her bow and arrows, and shot straight at them. This will be the day when she will no longer be a warrior but a wise one, a wise old fighter with plenty of experience and stories to tell. That day will come, but for now, Maya is stuck in her childhood..
