1. Viral MarketingViral marketing is not just another type of marketing in the digital age. It is more likely the result the marketer wants to achieve from their marketing campaign. As the name suggests, the message is supposed to be spread like a virus by people themselves through different channels like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter…etc. In these different channels, the message can take different forms such as video, email, image, game…etc. .Basically, the message should be created in a way to attract people with high social networking potential (SNP). These people will then share the message through their communications network. Thus, the message will spread virally in the network in a pyramidal manner. Marketing professors Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein suggest three criteria for a successful viral marketing campaign.[1]1. MessengerMessenger is the one who is supposed to deliver the message. But to make the message go viral, three types of messengers are specified in the book.• Market Mavens: People who are the first to expose themselves to the message• Social Hubs: People with a large number of connections on FB, Twitter• Sales People : Receive the message from market players and make the necessary changes so that it is disseminated by the social centers2. MessageThe message must be memorable, different from the trend. People should think it's worth sharing among friends.3. EnvironmentThe launch of the message must take place at the right time and in the right context. Apart from these factors, a viral marketing campaign should follow several guidelines.• The message should be attractive to the targeted set of people.• The message should be worth sharing among friends• Big platform like YouTube, Facebook,Twitter… etc• Initi...... middle of paper ......due to the novelty of the video. It's very touching. People think it's worth sharing because of the message it's trying to convey and the graphics it uses to convey the message. [3]The recent sharing of Halal related images on Facebook can also be known as a successful viral marketing campaign carried out by Bodu Bala Sena (BBS). They have created images that have an aggressive effect on Muslims and Buddhists. However, they managed to spread the message among young Buddhists on Facebook and to their families through them. Medahani Deshapriya's song Ex Alien also caught the attention of many people, although it was not in a positive way. It was a new way of singing, as she said. But society did not accept him as it expected. This video was shared virally not to promote her but to insult her way of singing..
