  • Essay / Reflection on Lesson 15-1 Telling the Time - 723

Once everyone had completed their tests, we distributed the interactive Lesson 15-1 Telling the Time worksheet at five minutes . Once each student has the worksheet, we watch a BrainPop on the Smartboard to refresh students' memories about the big hand and the small hand and what each hand represents. I could tell that all the students were very interested in the clip because they were all focused on the screen and they were having fun and laughing. After showing the BrainPop, we asked students to get up from their seats and walk to the mat where we examined the big and small hands and then presented them with practice problems on a large clock. When students announced the time, we asked them to explain how they got that time so we could see if they understood. The only thing I would change about asking each student the time is to not allow everyone to answer the question. My teacher said she likes to go around and talk and it gets everyone involved and you can listen to what the students know and what they don't know.
