Correctional institutions should use intelligence using citizens, the actions of the police themselves, as well as investigating police activities. While engaging honest and corrupt staff, the organization must encourage them to name those involved in corruption. External control strategies also help prevent corruption. Correctional units should encourage the public to remain vigilant and report suspected cases of corruption (Bayley & Perito 2011, p.11). Above all, ethical conduct will help prevent
