Why is technology taking over the world? In today's society, technology is used daily by every person in the world. The use of technology has become a major problem in today's world. People use technology for communication, research, business, etc. People are constantly on their cell phones, computers, iPads, tablets, or anything that has the internet on it. Technology has brought many benefits to the world, but it has caused even more problems. People can't drive without texting or calling someone, which has caused a lot of damage. Every day you see someone on the phone; people cannot continue their daily lives without a technological device. Technology has taken over today's generation. People are constantly on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. All these social networks take up time in people's lives. Kids are constantly on their cell phones, whether texting or on a social media site. Children are devoting all their time and efforts to technology, which is changing the generation drastically. Teenagers are inspired by what they see on the Internet. When they see drugs, profanity, and other disrespectful things, they think it's okay to do or say those things. Music also affects people's lives, especially children's lives. Most song lyrics today contain a large amount of profanity. When children or teenagers listen to these types of songs, they think that this is how they are supposed to be or act. One of the biggest problems with technology is texting and driving. According to the National Safety Council, “cell phones cause 26 percent of car crashes nationwide.” () Most accidents are not caused by real text messages. Talking on a portable device provokes some. People need to stop paying all their attention to their devices and pay more attention to their lives. It is a sad fact that technology has become an addiction for most people. Addiction to technology has taken over the current generation and it is important that changes are made.
