    The concept of global warming has become one of the most debated and controversial topics of our time. Scientists have long learned that Earth's climate has profoundly shaped human history. However, only in recent decades has research revealed that humans also have a significant influence on the climate. Growing scientific evidence indicates that since 1950, the global climate has warmed, primarily due to emissions from the burning of fossil fuels and the destruction of rainforests. More importantly, an article titled "Global Warming" published in the New York Times shows that methane, a gas emitted by landfills, livestock and oil gas facilities, is second only to the impact of carbon dioxide on the earth. atmosphere (“Global Warming”). Although many scientists argue and can prove that global warming actually exists, a team of scientists at the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) are dedicating their time and energy to disproving the myths behind global warming. According to the CEI website, CEI is a business. which specializes in debunking those who warn of global warming and climate change (Competitive Enterprise Institute). The CEI was founded in 1984 by a group of scientists who all wanted to answer the same question: is global warming real or is it a myth? A compelling argument is made by scientists who work for the IEC, who believe that global warming is just a bunch of nonsense that the government wants the public to believe.
