The topic of this research paper is about Epicurus and how he played a role in ancient Greece. This mission had to be carried out individually. In this research paper, I had to do a lot of things. First I had to retrieve my philosopher's sources. I had to get two physical sources and at least one internet source. Then when I had my sources, I had to write a 2-3 page research paper on philosophy and the role it played in ancient Greece as it relates to the value of individuals and the role that government should play in society. It took two days to research and a week to write the essay. The critical thinking skills I learned involved purpose, questions, information, inferences, concepts, assumptions, implications, and point of view. What I like the most is information, because in any type of problem you must use information, because without information you cannot prove your point of view, you must need evidence to support your assertion. In this mission, I needed a goal and a key question to accomplish. this mission. The purpose of this assignment was to create a research paper on philosophy and I had to explain how it played a role in ancient Greece. I had to explain my assigned philosopher who was Epicurus and I had to discuss what he thought about government and what it taught the people of ancient Greece. The key issue is accurately writing an organized essay with multiple sources. I had to get two physical sources and at least one online source. In each quote I had to explain or paraphrase that quote and it shows clarity. Then, when I was finished with the internal citations, I had to develop a works cited page with all the sources I had used in my research paper. This shows that I used accuracy and precision because I used sources...... middle of paper ...... I would live in peace. This is important because without a philosopher, the world would feel defeated and no one would have progress and the best form of government to live on. The most difficult part of this mission was finding evidence for Epicurus' beliefs. The least difficult part of this assignment was writing the research paper. If I had the chance to do this again, I would like another philosopher to write about it. I actually like the topic of this assignment because some of the philosophies studied in ancient Greece are used today. This mission concerns the real world, because some of the philosophies studied by philosophers today came from ancient Greece. In my opinion, I feel like opinion is the best critical thinking skill because in any type of situation you need to use information to support your argument..
