She believes that caregivers do not trust their children and that they prefer to give orders to their children. I see some similarities in my life and experiences that I found in the text. When I was growing up, I pretty much had a childhood. My sister and I will play outside and do things without being supervised by my parents. We were able to explore the outdoors and invent games to play with other children. When it rains and snows, my sister and I will use our imagination and create games like home or school. My parents didn't control our childhood, they didn't create activities or tell me what to do with our free time. I was almost free. But as I got older, my parents started getting involved in my life and planning my future. The concepts of worldviews, biases, and assumptions used in the text are that parents make it difficult for their children to interact with their environment because it ends in consequences. Ellen says a child should learn to use their imagination instead of following rules.
