Essay / Similarities between George Wallace and Martin Luther King
wanted civil rights to take place and act. King did not want his people to fight against the whites but only to obtain the same freedom. King wanted everyone to stand up for what they believed in, not stand down. They asked Martin Luther King Jr. “When will you be satisfied?” » According to King, "we can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is subjected to the unspeakable horrors of police brutality." (King) What King was trying to say here is that no civil rights are taken into account. Black people are treated horribly just because of the color of their skin. There is discrimination even for innocent children. Children cannot drink from the Whites' water fountains or in certain restaurants. The police are also corrupt and give black people inhumane treatment.
