Human services is a profession that has been profoundly affected by certain laws passed by Congress. One of the most influential laws that was passed was the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act", signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2010. This legislation deeply affected the Department of Human Services, more than any other legislation of the past. decade. Many positive changes have been made, but many could also argue about the downsides of some of the changes. It is essential in this field of work to study and evaluate both sides of arguments to improve the ability to deal with and help others. Before the PPACA, some divisions in the medical field made the scope of health care coverage much smaller than it was. should be. This largely affects people who have pre-existing low income and rely on welfare for many needs, such as health care. With this reduced range of coverage, it is difficult for the government to support the funding of social assistance and, therefore, the funding of the ministry's social services. Today, thanks to the PPACA, this problem has been eradicated, but some still wonder if the law hurt the economy in an attempt to make up for the lack of funds. This issue has given rise to many debates and controversial statements, but no clear decision has yet been made. With this legislation, many are noticing some of the key objectives aimed at citizens. A very notable goal is to make health care affordable for all Americans and at the same time, improving the quality and efficiency of health care.
